Saturday May 10th, the combined Vassar College Choirs under directors Drew Minter and Susan Bialek will present choral sounds and textures in the Widow Jane Mine’s stunningly reverberant acoustics. The mine serves as a perfect backdrop to a varied program including the Hell Scene from Gluck’s renowned opera Orfeo, Inuit and Māori chants, American spiritual songs and more.
Together the Vassar College Choir, Vassar Treble Choir and Chamber Singers have toured in England, France, Cuba, Austria and the Czech Republic and were invited to perform at Carnegie Hall, most recently under the baton of Sir John Rutter.
