Magic lantern performers Joel Schlemowitz and Dawn Elliott present a show of projections and live music by intermedia artist and composer Jeremy D. Slater. Using deaccessioned educational slides as the mainstay of the piece, images will progress from the astronomic to the geologic to the primordial to the Anthropocene. The show will include a live score performed by Jeremy D. Slater, who has previously performed with Schlemowitz’s magic lantern projections at The Widow Jane Mine and Microscope Gallery in NYC.
Elliott and Schlemowitz have received awards from the Victorian Society NY and the Magic Lantern Society UK for their magic lantern performances.

Jeremy D. Slater has exhibited and performed in the US and internationally using field recordings, guitar, objects, ambient noise, as well as creating single and multiple channel videos, and installations with sound and ephemeral sculpture.

Please dress warmly as the mine is a constant 55°. We have approximately 100 chairs for rent this year but feel free to bring your own chairs and blankets on the ground are also fine. Wear sturdy shoes for the walk to the mine on gravel roads. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to park and walk to the mine.
