Siren Theatre Company, formed in 2022, is a small group of local Hudson Valley performing artists who produce work that creates dialogue, changes perspectives, and inspires introspection. They produce both published works and devised and co-created works, all with the intention of sharing powerful and vulnerable stories that will disrupt assumptions and bring our communities together.
Siren Theatre’s immersive living history theatrical experiences, in collaboration with the D&H Canal Historical Society and others, are inspired by historical research documented by local historians and speculation about the more intriguing and unknown history of Ulster County. Previous original productions include The Raging Canal (2023), and Haunted High Falls (2022-2023). Their pieces are written and inspired by true stories and newspaper reports of events originating from High Falls, Rosendale, and other surrounding towns, and are based around the lives of people who once lived there. They bring these people and the history of the Hudson Valley to life through creating educational and accessible experiences in a dramatic, riveting, and interactive way that allows an audience to feel like they are truly involved in the story taking place.
